Men's Track & Field Has Champion At The Duke Twilight

DURHAM, N.C. – Coastal Carolina men’s track and field participated in the Duke Twilight Sunday, May 7. The Chanticleers could only participate in two events due to weather conditions but junior Tommy Sugishita (Arroyo Grande, Calif./Arroyo Grande (Moorpark JC)) was the hammer throw champion with a throw of 172’04” (52.52 m).

Freshman Jamie McCarthy (Riverstick, Ireland/North Monastery) finished second in the 1500-meter race with a time of 3:53.50 and teammate junior Doug Currie (Sarnia, Ontario/Sarnia Northern) was fifth with a time of 3:55.07.

The Chanticleers will now compete at the North Carolina A&T Last Chance meet in Greensboro, N.C. Friday, May 12.
