White Leads Track and Field on the Second Day of the Penn Relays
PHILADELPHIA, PA. Coastal's track and field teams had four athletes compete on the first day of the Penn Relays on Friday, Apr. 29 at Franklin Field.
For the men, senior Kendall White (Columbia, S.C./Richland Northeast) placed fifth in the sixth heat of the college 400m hurdles championship, 55.28.
Other standouts for the men, include sophomore Tim Roa (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) who placed 10th in the college men's pole vault, 4.6m.
For the women junior Tamara Bryant (Pasadena, Calif./La Salle (Moorpark C.C.) finished seventh in the women's discus throw championships, 49.51m/162'05". For Bryant it was a season and personal best.
Sophomore Chasity Johnson (North Charleston, S.C./Fort Dorchester) placed 10th in the college women's triple jump championships, 12.38m/40'07.50"
Coastal's track and field programs are next in action on Saturday, Apr. 30 as the men's team wrap's up competition in the Penn Relays, with sophomore Galen Jones (Evans, Ga./Lakeside) throwing in the college men's javelin at 12:15 p.m. and junior Mark Johnson (North Myrtle Beach, S.C./North Myrtle Beach) competing in the college men's pole vault championship at 2 p.m.
