PHILADELPHIA, PA. Coastal Carolinas mens track and field had three results in the first day of their competition in the nationally-renowned Penn Relays, Fri., Apr. 28.
Freshman Tyrone Murphy (Spartanburg, S.C./Dorman) finished 28th out of 76 in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 52.98. In the distance medley relay, the team of Murphy, freshman Jamie McCarthy (Riverstick, Ireland/North Monastery), junior Doug Currie (Sarnia, Ontario/Sarnia Northern) and senior Nelson Oliveira (Coimbra, Portugal/Quintas das Flores) finished 29th in the distance medley with a time of 10:31.07.
