RALEIGH, N.C. Coastal Carolina track and field team wrapped up their busy weekend by competing at the Raleigh Relays on Saturday afternoon in Raleigh, N.C. on the campus of North Carolina State.
Among the standouts for Coastal women team from the second day of action were throwersjunior Tamara Bryant (Pasadena, Calif./La Salle (Moorpark C.C.), who placed fifth in the hammer with a 53.31m/175'00", and senior Karen Olesky (Jarretsville, Md./North Hartford) placed 12th with a hammer throw of 48.06m/157'8". Sophomore Chasity Johnson (North Charleston, S.C./Fort Dorchester) finished third in the triple jump with a 12.51m/41'00.50".
The 3,000m steeple chase runners seniors Lindsey Kozlowski (Thunder Bay, Ontario/Port Arthur Collegiate), sophomore Eileen Wicker (Quinton, Va./New Kent) and junior Jessica Goeden (Grand Rapids, Mich/Grand Rapids) finished eighth (11:18.98), tenth (11.39.80) and twelveth (11.49.28), in the event respectively for the Lady Chanticleers.
For the men, freshman Steve Dowens (Red Bank, N.J./Middletown South) placed seventh, 52.29m/171'07" in the javelin and junior Galen Jones (Evan, Ga./Lakeside) was 14th in the men's hammer
Coastal's track and field program will next be in action next weekend as it travels to Charlotte, N.C. to participate in the Charlotte Invitational.
