Men's Track And Field Posts Several Top-10s At Raleigh Relays
RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Coastal Carolina men's track and field teams had numerous top-10 finishes on the final day of the Raleigh Relays, Mar. 25.
Freshman Aubrey Lemon (Goose Creek, S.C./Stratford) finished second in the 200 meter invitational event, running a time of 22.38. Coastal's 4x100-relay team of sophomore Daniel Stokes (Bluffton, S.C./Hilton Head (Savannah State)), Lemon, freshman Tyrone Murphy (Spartanburg, S.C./Dorman) and freshman Jonathan Jeffries (Rock Hill, S.C./Victory Christian Center) finished in seventh in a time of 42.11.
In the throwing events, junior Galen Jones (Evans, Ga/Lakeside) placed third in the hammer throw with a toss of 56.32m (184' 9"). In the javelin, sophomore Thomas Jordan (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) finished fourth with a throw of 63.82m (209' 4"), while freshman Kyle Hoddy (Griswold, Conn./Griswold) placed ninth with a distance 55.68m (182' 8").
Next up for the Coastal men's track team is the Big South/Southern Conference Challenge, Fri.-Sat., Mar. 31-Apr. 1, hosted by Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, N.C.
