Track & Field's Thomas Jordan Named Big South Athlete Of The Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Coastal Carolina’s Thomas Jordan (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest ) team was named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week, announced Wednesday, March 8. Jordan, a redshirt sophomore from Lebanon, Pa., opened up the 2006 outdoor track season with an NCAA regional qualifying toss of 227" 5' (68.33 meters) in the javelin to win the title at the Battle of the Beach, Saturday, March 4. Jordan was the Big South Champion in the javelin during the 2004 season, but sat out the 2005 season due to injury. CCU will now host the CCU Invitational Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11. The competition begins at 10 a.m.
