Track and Field's Jordan Ranked Sixth-Best Returnee in Division I Javelin Throw
CONWAY, S.C. - Coastal Carolina University sophomore Thomas Jordan (Lebanon, Pa./Cedar Crest) was listed as the sixth-best returning javelin thrower for the 2006 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field season in the February edition of Track & Field News. Jordan's ranking is based on his personal best throw of 232' 6" to win the 2004 Big South Championship.
That mark also is a school and Big South conference record. In addition, Jordan advanced to the NCAA East Regional and NCAA Championship meets in 2004.
Jordan's 2005 season was cut short by a season-ending ankle injury and he received a medical redshirt for the year.
Jordan's first competition this season, along with the entire Coastal Carolina Men's Track and Field squad, will be at the second annual "Battle of the Beaches" dual meet against UNC Wilmington on Saturday, March 4.
