DURHAM, N.C.- Coastal Carolina University men’s track and field had three sophomores compete in the Duke Twilight on Sunday, May 9 at Wallace Wade Stadium, with all three Chanticleers taking top-six finishes on the day.
For his second consecutive career-best performance, Jason Jensen threw 200’2” (61.02 meters) in the hammer throw, placing second in the event and first among collegiate competition.
Burton Jones took third place in both the triple and long jump events. Jones cleared a mark of 43’7” (13.28 meters) in the triple jump and 20’9” (6.32 meters) in the long jump.
In the one of the final events of the day, Kyle Kling ran 14:57.70 to finish sixth in the 5000 meters.
The Chanticleers will travel to Atlanta, Ga., on Friday, May 14 and Saturday, May 15 for the Georgia Tech Invitational.
