PHILADELPHIA  - Seven members of the Coastal Carolina men's track and field team wrapped up competition at the prestigious Penn Relay Carnival at the University Pennsylvania's Franklin Field track on Saturday.

The Chants 4x100 meter relay team of Chris Lawson, Lenny Steed, Tyler Askew and Corey Jameson placed seventh in the college championship section of the event after turning in a time of 40.87. The time was the team's second fastest of the season behind the 40.27 split at the Florida State Seminole Invitational.

In the championship section of the javelin, Jason Flanagan finished seventh with a final distance of 66.92m (219-6). Senior Bryan Fill placed ninth in the event with a season best throw of 61.84m (202-10).

Senior high jumper Jacques Watson, who claimed the third Big South high jump title of his career last weekend, failed to record a cleared height in the championship section of the event.

Coastal Carolina will send athletes to the Bob Pollock Spring Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla. on Saturday, May 7 and the Duke Twilight in Durham, N.C. on Sunday, May 8.
