LYNCHBURG, Va.-Coastal Carolina men's track and field had 10 top-10 finishes in the Liberty Twilight, taking place on Thursday, April 29.
The Chanticleers had five athletes make it to the finals of the 100-meter dash, where they took third through sixth along with eighth and all running wind aided personal-bests. Ryan Edlich finished first for the Chants in third with a time of 10.64. Corey Jameson followed with a time of 10.67 and Lenny Steed was two seconds behind at 10.69. Christopher Lawson ran 10.70 to take sixth place and Jerome St. Bernard rounded out the Chanticleer field in eighth, clocking a time of 10.74.
St. Bernard was the highest finisher for the Chanticleers in the 200-meter dash, taking 14th with a personal-best time of 21.77, while Stevie Brunson followed in 17th place at 22.62. Brunson was the lone participant in the in the 400-meter dash with a time of 49.99, placing 11th.
In the field events, Ross Graves jumped 6'6.25" (1.99 meters) in the high jump, good for second place. Jerry Ntumba followed in eighth place, clearing 6'0.5" (1.84 meters). In the triple jump, Chad Phillips leapt 47'11.25" (14.61 meters), taking fourth place.
The Chanticleers will participate in another "twilight" event at Duke on Sunday, May 9 in Durham, N.C.
