Coastal Carolina University’s men’s track and field team participated in the Joe Hilton Carolina Fast Times Invitational on Saturday, April 10 in Chapel Hill, N.C.

 

After returning from an injury, Jack Hutchison ran 14.47 in the 110-meter hurdles good for third place in the finals. Teammate Stevie Brunson took in 11th place in the 400-meter race at 50.38.

 

In the 1500 meter run Kyle Kling and Max Hacker both posted personal-best performances. Kling ran 3:54.02, winning his heat and finishing 23rd overall, while Hacker clocked a time of 3:59.85. In the 800-meter run, Jarod Williams ran 1:56.59, winning his heat and finishing in 23rd overall.

 

In the field events, Stanley Davis threw for eighth place 45’2.5” (13.78 meters) in the shot put and Jason Jensen tossed 44’9.75” (13.66 meters) in ninth. In the discus, Tyler Swanson threw 145’ (44.46 meters), taking seventh place, while teammate Jensen followed in eighth place with a throw of 140’11” (45.03 meters).

 

The Chanticleers compete in the Big South Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday-Saturday, 15-17, hosted by Charleston Southern.
