Men's Track and Field Concludes Virginia Tech Invitational

Coastal Carolina University’s men’s track and field team concluded the Virginia Tech Invitational on Saturday, January 16 in Blacksburg, Va.
Redshirt-junior Jacques Watson highlighted the day for the Chants by winning the high jump event with a mark of 7’00.25”, tying a career-best in indoor. Junior Ross Graves also participated in the event, jumping a 6’04.75”.
In the long jump, redshirt-sophomore Chad Phillips placed 10th, reaching a mark of 22’08.50”. Teammates Ryan Edlich and Graves finished 20th and 22nd, respectively.
Redshirt-sophomore Corey Jameson had another strong showing by placing 14th in the 200-meter dash, finishing with a time of 22.69. Following Jameson in 16th was redshirt-junior Leonard Steed with a time of 22.80, and senior Kasheem Clifton finished with a time of 25.37 in the event.
In the 1600-meter relay, the Coastal Carolina team of Jameson, Shane Norris, Darren Tymczak and Jacob Scheuer finished 15th with a time of 3.30.03.
The Chanticleers will have a break until February 5-6 and when they travel to State College, Pa., for the Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup at Penn State.
