Men's Tennis' Vlaskin Edged Out of ITA Mideast Regional

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Junior Dmitry Vlaskin (Moscow, Russia/Moscow 1201 (Arkansas)) of the Coastal Carolina University men's tennis team fell in straight sets of the main draw at the ITA Mideast Regional Friday, Oct. 17 in Chapel Hill, N.C.   The Chanticleers complete fall play with a 52-32 record and will now prepare for the 2009 season. Vlaskin was the lone Chanticleer remaining at the ITA Mideast regional, but could not get past Duke’s Reid Carlton, who defeated him 6-3, 6-2.   "I felt like we took positive steps forward this fall season,” Head Coach Chris Powers commented. “We'll continue to work in the off season on improving physically and mentally on the court and in the weight room. I'm already excited about the 2009 season and I believe with continued progress that we'll be very competitive in the Big South and beyond this year."
