The 2017-18 Chants feature plenty of new faces as five of the nine student-athletes will be wearing teal for the first time.

Among the returning student-athletes are juniors Chris Kerswell and Luiz Faria, and sophomores Zak Talic and Francesco Cori-Gamero.

Coastal's three freshman -- Paul Boulay, Juan Castellanos and Harry Cohen -- will be getting their first taste of collegiate action this weekend. The group of newcomers also includes a pair of sophomore transfers in Gonzalez Achondo and Lawrence Perrin. Achondo played his freshman season at Texas A&M Corpus Christie, while Perrin comes to Coastal after a season at New Mexico.

The coaching staff also has a slightly different look heading into the season. Chris Powers -- entering his 14th season leading the Chants -- has two new assistants following the departure of Mo Hookaylo. Former Chanticleer student-athletes Sebastian Schneider and Nic Planchard will assist the team this season. Schneider was with the Chants from 2015-17 and was an all-conference selection, while Planchard was with the team for the 2015-16 season after transferring from Tusculum.
