Perrin Joins Men’s Tennis Team
CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina men’s tennis team rounded out its 2017-18 roster this week with the addition of Lawrence Perrin, a sophomore transfer from the University of New Mexico.
“Lawrence came to us a little later than the others, but we were very excited when he became available,” said head coach Chris Powers. “I am looking forward to seeing him on the court, and I know he is ready to take on the fall season here at Coastal. He has the potential to be a tremendous asset to this team.”
As a freshman at New Mexico, Perrin finished with one of the team’s better doubles records at 7-4 overall. He won five of nine matches on the first court and added another pair of wins at No. 2. Perrin also posted a 5-9 mark in singles while playing the fourth and fifth flights.
A native of Epsom, Surrey, England, Perrin was ranked as high as #176 by the International Tennis Federation in 2016.
The Chanticleer men’s tennis team opens its fall season with the UNCW Clay Court Invitational Sept. 8-10. Coastal then hosts its own tournament Sept. 15-17 at the Stevens Tennis Complex.
