Men's Tennis Earns ITA Academic Team Award

Men's tennis and five student-athletes earn academic honors from the 2008-09 season

Coastal Carolina University men’s tennis team was named to the ITA All-Academic Team and five student-athletes earned individual honors by being named ITA Scholar-Athletes, announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

“It is the goal of the program to maintain an excellent standard in the classroom while competing at a higher level on the court each year,” said Head Coach Chris Powers. “I am very proud to represent a group of fine young men who understand the true meaning of scholar-athlete.”

Senior Geman Perez, juniors Ernesto Ramos, Plamen Tzvetkov, Dmitry Vlaskin, and sophomore Dorian Sovic all achieved a grade point average of at least 3.5 to be among the listing of student athletes.

To qualify ITA All-Academic team award has a cumulative team G.P.A. of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
