ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Coastal Carolina men’s tennis trio of Peter Billingham, Matt Gordon and Yusuke Kusuda were each honored with Big South postseason awards Wednesday night when the winners were announced at the Men’s Tennis Big South Championships banquet. 

Billingham was named to the Big South All-Conference Team in doubles after finishing the season with a 13-5 overall record in matches at both the No. 1 and No. 2 position.  Billingham, who played with Gordon in all 18 of his doubles matches this season, went 10-5 at No. 1 and a perfect 3-0 at No. 2.  Billingham and Gordon were also 3-3 in conference play. 

Gordon captured a pair of awards when he was selected to the all-conference team in both singles and doubles.  The London, England, native was 11-6 in singles at No. 1 and No. 2 this season, which included a 9-0 mark when playing No. 2.  He also went 3-3 in league play on his way to earning a spot on the all-conference team for the second straight season. 

Kusuda earned a spot on the Big South All-Academic Team and was deemed the flight winner at the No. 2 singles position.  Kusuda was undefeated at No. 2 singles and finished the season 3-0 and only lost one set all year at that position. 

Kusuda is majoring in finance and owns a 3.91 GPA.
