Men's Tennis Claims Three Awards at Big South Banquet

Third-Seeded Chants Slated to Face Liberty at 3:30 p.m. in Opening Round

ASHEVILLE, N.C. - Yusuke Kusuda, Danny Heidecker and Matias Di Pasquale have received Big South Conference honors as announced during the conference's annual postseason banquet held Wednesday.

Di Pasqule has been named the No. 4 singles flight winner following an 11-4 overall mark including a 6-1 record in Big South play.

Kusuda has been named to the singles all-conference team, marking his second all-conference award while at Coastal. The junior finished with a 12-4 overall singles record.

Heidecker has been named to the Big South All-Academic team. The senior has earned a 3.73 in Sociology. He currently holds an 8-7 record in singles play.

The Coastal Carolina men's tennis will compete in the Big South Conference Championship beginning Thursday, April 19 at the Asheville Racquet Club Downtown. The third-seeded Chants will play sixth-seeded Liberty at 3:30 p.m.

"This tournament should be a lot of fun," said head coach Chris Powers. "There is so much parity in the league that any team is capable of making a run to the championship."

"As far as our match with Liberty, we are excited to play them again after a close win earlier this spring. I have a tremendous amount of respect for their program and I know it will be a great first round match up."
