The Coastal Carolina men’s tennis team (8-13, 0-5 Big South) won the doubles point, but fell in five of the six singles matches as Charleston Southern University defeated the Chanticleers 5-2 April 6 in Conway, S.C.

Coastal won in the first and second doubles matches. At number-one doubles, junior Florentin Meynie (Nanterre, France) and sophomore Richard Redding (Winscombe, England) defeated Lee Schutte and Jonathon Dean 8-3. Sophomore Andy Caress (Cincinnati, Ohio) and sophomore Simon Taylor (Hampshire, England) won at number-two doubles 8-6 over Steven Dean and Murat Atilla.

Sophomore Ryan Vrba (Algonquin, Ill.) was the only winner for the Chants in singles play. He defeated Guy David 7-5, 6-4.

Coastal hosts Winthrop Friday, April 8 at 2 p.m., at the Billy Nichols Tennis Center.
