Men's Tennis Falls to High Point 7-0

The Coastal Carolina University men’s tennis team (7-8, 0-2 Big South) fell to High Point University 7-0 March 19 in Conway, S.C.

Although Coastal lost all six singles matches, three went to a third set. Sophomore Richard Redding (Winscombe, England) fell to Mike Tolman 6-1, 6-7, 6-3. Sophomore Simon Taylor (Hampshire, England) lost to Chris Archer 6-7, 6-1, 6-1 and sophomore Andy Caress (Cincinnati, Ohio) lost to Henrik Almstrom 7-6, 5-7 (11-9). Coastal also lost the three doubles matches.

"I’m proud of our guys today," Coastal head coach Chris Powers said. "We played with a lot of class while dealing with injuries. We pushed them deep in places and hopefully we’ll reload for UNC Greensboro tomorrow."

Coastal travels to UNC Greensboro Sunday, March 20 at noon.
