The Coastal Carolina University men’s tennis team (7-6) won five singles and all three doubles matches in defeating Longwood University 6-1 March 13 in Farmville, Va.

Coastal won four singles matches and picked up another point by default. Junior Florentin Meynie (Nanterre, France) defeated Toblas Guennel 6-1, 7-6. At the number-three singles, sophomore Simon Taylor (Hampshire, England) defeated Mani Barajas-Alexander 6-0, 6-3. Sophomore Ryan Vrba (Algonquin, Ill.) beat Ian Young, 6-2, 6-0 and freshman Ryan Weisband (Pittsburgh, Pa.) defeated Ross McBee 6-3, 6-2.

In doubles, Meynie and sophomore Richard Redding (Winscombe, England) won over Rashko Patnikov and Young 8-5. Taylor and sophomore Andy Caress (Cincinnati, Ohio) beat Guennel and Barajas-Alexander 8-2.

Coastal will host Lafayette and Marist Thursday, March 17, at 11 a.m.
