WILMINGTON, N.C. The Coastal Carolina University mens tennis team (1-3) fell to the Univeristy of North Carolina at WIlmington, 7-0, Feb. 25 in Wilmington, N.C.
UNC Wilmington won all six singles and three doubles matches, although three singles matches went to a tiebreaker. Sophomore Florentin Meynie (Nanterre, France) lost to Rahul Rajkhewa 6-4, 6-7 and 10-6 in the tiebreak. Freshman Simon Taylor (Hampshire, England) lost to Timothy Meredith 3-6, 6-1 and 12-10 in the tiebreak. Freshman Darko Fridl (Zagreb, Croatia) fell to Scott Curry 6-3, 4-6 and 10-7 in a tiebreak.
Coastal opens Big South play Sunday, Feb. 29, at noon against Radford University.
