Coastal Carolina University men’s tennis senior Plamen Tzvetkov has been named the Big South Choice Hotels Men’s Tennis Player of the Week, announced Tuesday, Feb. 23 by the league office.

Tzvetkov turned things around after starting the season 0-4 by picking up victories in singles and doubles action last week against Charlotte and Conference foe Gardner-Webb.  In the match against the 49ers, Tzvetkov defeated Krystof Kwasniewicz, 7-5, 6-4 in No. 5 singles, helping solidify the 5-2 Coastal win on Feb. 20.  The Herts, United Kingdom native defeated Gardner-Webb’s Roman Piftor (7-6 (7-5), 6-3) last Sunday providing the game-winning point for the Chants.
