Men's Tennis Picks up Fourth Straight Victory after Defeating Limestone 6-1

CONWAY, S.C.- The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team picked up its fourth straight victory after defeating Limestone, 6-1.  Head Coach Chris Powers got singles wins from all four seniors and the Chanticleers went 3-0 in doubles action.  Back in the number one slot for the Chants after a day off, senior Simon Taylor (Hampshire, England/Queen Mary's College) defeated  Christian Munn 6-0, 6-1.  Fellow Senior Elliott Quibell (Derby, England/Cheam (Colorado)) picked up a win against Philippe Hogan in a close three-set match, 4-6, 7-6, 6-4.  Sophomore Joseph Withers (Peoria, Ill./Dunlap (Liberty)) got his first loss in a Coastal uniform after falling to Limestone's Peter Elsborg 7-6, 4-6, 4-6 while freshman Plamen Tzvetkov (Herts, United Kingdom/Stanborough) beat Jafet Banuelos 6-1, 6-2.  Seniors Andy Caress (Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton) and Richard Redding (Winscombe, England/Queen Elizabeth's Hospital) both picked up wins for the Chants, Caress defeating Christian Warnholtz 6-4, 6-1 and Redding taking down Christopher Ross-da Silva 6-2, 6-1.

In doubles action, the senior team of Taylor and Caress beat Elsborg and Munn 8-2, remaining undefeated in the number one spot.  Junior David Mellis (London, England/Goffs) and partner Quibell ran the show against Warnholtz and Hogan 8-4 while Tzvetkov and Redding defeated Jacobs and Ross-da Silva 8-1.

The Chanticleers are back in action tomorrow as they participate in a dual match with the Lady Chanticleers against Gardner-Webb (9 a.m.) and Winston-Salem State (1 p.m.)
