Men's Tennis Faces Nationally Ranked UNC Wilmington Friday

CONWAY - The Coastal Carolina men's tennis team will play No. 44 nationally ranked UNC Wilmington on Friday at 1:00 p.m.

"It is going to be a good match against a good Wilmington team," said head coach Chris Powers. "We will compete hard, play our game and see what happens."

Coastal is off to a 2-0 start this season after defeating The Citadel (6-1) and Mercer (6-1) last week. Leo Christofideswas named Big South Player of the Week for his pair of straight set wins over the weekend.

UNC Wilmington holds a 2-1 record after playing back-to-back nationally ranked opponents in the ITA Weekend Kick-Off in Los Angeles. The Seahawks, the defending CAA champions, defeated No. 45 South Florida 4-2. They advanced to the second round but fell to the No. 1-ranked Southern Cal 6-1.
