Men's Soccer's Has Three on NSCAA/adidas Scholar All-South Region Team

CONWAY, S.C. - Coastal Carolina's men's soccer team had three players selected to the 2005 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas Scholar All-South Region Team, the organization announced recently.

Seniors Joseph Kabwe (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe/Sakubva (Lindsey Wilson)) and Jordie Hughes (Victoria, B.C./Spectrum) were both selected to the First Team. Kabwe has a grade-point average of 3.55 in interdisciplinary studies while Hughes has a 3.41 grade-point average in business. Hughes was also a member of the Big South's All-Academic team and was a First Team Academic All-District III selection by ESPN The Magazine earlier this year. Hughes led the team with 29 points, 11 goals and seven assists this past campaign. At Coastal, Hughes scored 47 career goals to place second, while accumulating 120 career points, which ranked him fourth all-time. Hughes was a First Team All-Big South selection for the third consecutive season this year. Kabwe was an All-Big South Second Team selection and the MVP of the Big South Tournament this season

Fellow senior Peter Louis (Dallas, Texas/Lake Highlands) was a Second Team NSCAA selection with 3.36 grade-point average in business. For Louis it was the second time he was selected to an NSCAA All-Academic team,  he earned a South Region Second selection last season. This past year the senior defender keyed a CCU defense that had a goals-against average of 1.45 and five shuouts. For his efforts, he was an All-Big South First Team selection for the first time.

For the year, Coastal Carolina men's soccer team (11-9, 5-2 Big South) won its third consecutive Big South Tournament title and made it to the NCAA Tournament for the fifth consecutive season and seventh season overall.
