- Coastal Carolina men's soccer team had two players selected to the 2005 NSCAA/adidas All-South Atlantic Region Team, the NSCAA announced recently.Senior midfielder Joseph Kabwe (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe/Sakubva (Lindsey Wilson)) was selected to the Second Team for the first time in his career. Kabwe was second on the Chanticleers and seventh in the Big South Conference with seven goals this past season. Kabwe also was second on the team and eighth in the conference with six assists.
Forward senior Jordie Hughes (Victoria, B.C./Spectrum) was selected to the Third Team. Hughes led the team with 29 points,11 goals and seven assists this past campaign. At Coastal, Hughes scored 47 career goals to place second, while accumulating 120 career points, which ranked him fourth all-time. Hughes was a First Team All-Big South selection for the third consecutive season this year.
Overall, the Big South Conference was well represented as nine players were named to the team, including three selections to the First Team.
For the year, Coastal Carolina men's soccer team (11-9, 5-2 Big South) won its third consecutive Big South Tournament title and made it to the NCAA Tournament for the fifth consecutive season and seventh season overall.
