Mueller Named CoSIDA Academic All-America
CONWAY - The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) just released its 2017 CoSIDA Academic All-America teams and there is a name with a familiar ring on the list.
Coastal Carolina's Henrik Mueller has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America second team.
Mueller, who has been a starter as a defender during his career at CCU, has proven himself not only on the field, but in the classroom as well. The junior from Potsdam, Germany has posted a 4.00 grade point average while majoring in management for the Chanticleers.
On top of his work in the classroom, Mueller played in 19 matches this season for the nationally-ranked Chanticleers where he was part of a defensive back line that helped solidify seven shutouts for the reigning two-time Sun Belt Champions.
While playing along the defensive back line, Mueller did find himself in the offensive mix at times, attempting 10 shots with three of those on goal. He also scored three points on a goal and an assist.
Mueller joins a growing list of Chanticleer academic honorees and becomes the third player to earn CoSIDA Academic All-America status, joining former CCU standouts Joseph Ngwenya (2003, 1st Team) and Kevin Van Den Berg (2006, 3rd Team).
