CONWAY - For the second consecutive year the Coastal Carolina men's soccer team advanced to the NCAA Tournament Second Round with a win over Southern Conference champion Elon. The 12th-ranked Chanticleers now travel to Wake Forest to take on the 14th-ranked Demon Deacons at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18.

THE CHANTS AND THE DEMON DEACONS
Coastal Carolina and Wake Forest have met four previous times on the pitch with the Demon Deacons winning each. The sides last met on Oct. 23, 2007, in Conway with Wake Forest claiming a 5-0 win.
COASTAL VS. THE ACC IN THE NCAA TOURNEY
Coastal's second round matchup against Wake Forest marks the seventh time the Chanticleers have squared off against an opponent from the Atlantic Coast Conference. Coastal is 1-4-1 all-time in the tournament against the ACC, producing its lone positive result with a 3-nil victory over North Carolina in the 2003. In addition, Coastal has played an ACC member institution in each of its last seven NCAA Tournament appearances.

With its 3-0 win over Elon on Thursday Coastal Carolina is on to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive year and fourth time in school history.

CHANTS ADVANCE WITH SHUTOUT OF ELON
For the second straight season Coastal Carolina was charged with hosting Elon in the NCAA Tournament First Round and for the second straight season the Chanticleers eliminated the visiting Phoenix. This time Coastal shutout Elon en route to a 3-0 victory. Pedro Ribeiro turned in his first multi-goal game of the season and Matt Risher added an insurance goal as Coastal blanked Elon to earn its 12th shutout of the season. Moreover, the clean sheet was the first in an NCAA Tournament game for the Chanticleers since the 2003 squad held North Carolina scoreless in a 3-0 second-round victory.
Tickets for Sunday night's game will be $7 for adults and $3 for youth, seniors and Wake Forest students. Children three and under will be admitted into the game for free.
