The Coastal Carolina University men's soccer goalkeeper Scott Angevine and defender Alex Russell were named to the Big South Conference All-Tournament Team; announced on Sunday, Nov. 15 following the Big South Championship game at Boiling Springs, N.C.
Angevine had a stellar showing in the tournament making five saves. The redshirt-sophomore had a shutout in the 1-0 win over VMI in the quarterfinals of the tournament. The netminder finished the season unbeaten with a 6-0-6 record and four shutouts. Angevine was also selected to the All-Big South First Team.
Russell led Coastal defense to only allow two goals in two games in the Tournament. The junior's defense helped allow Angevine to only see five shots. The South Elgin, Ill. native was selected to the All-Big South First Team after leading a tough defense that never allowed more than one goal in a game in conference play. Russell finished the regular season with one goal, one assist and five shots.
The Chanticleers finished the season with an 9-2-7 record and a Big South Regular Season Title after going undefeated in Big South play with a 4-0-3 record.
