Men's Soccer's Kabwe Named to College Soccer News National Team of the Week

CONWAY, S.C. – Senior Joseph Kabwe (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe/Sakubva) was among the group of 11 players named by College Soccer News as a member of its National Team of the Week for the week ending, Nov. 13, the publication announced.

The senior midfielder had a great week, recording an assist and two goals, including the game-winner in the Big South Championship game. His goal propelled CCU to its third consecutive Big South title and fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament berth. Kabwe was given the Tournament’s MVP trophy for his outstanding efforts. He is the third Chant in as many years to take home the hardware.

For the season, Kabwe is second on the team in goals and assists with seven and six, respectively. He is also tied for the team lead with three game-winning goals.

Coastal (11-8-1, 5-2 Big South) will play in the NCAA Tournament against a yet to be determined opponent on either Friday, Nov. 18 or Saturday, Nov. 19 at a yet to be determined time.
