Coastal Carolina Match Notes Get Acrobat Reader

CONWAY - The 12th-ranked and Big South Regular Season Champion Coastal Carolina men's soccer team begins its march to the 2013 Big South Tournament championship hosting eighth-seeded Winthrop in a quarterfinal round match Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the CCU Soccer Field.

As an official Big South Conference postseason event, there will be an admission charge for all spectators. Ticket prices for the event are $5 for adults and $1 for youth (18 and under).

Coastal Carolina athletics will purchase CCU faculty/staff and student tickets to the event, thus making them available FREE of charge to with a valid Coastal Carolina ID. The tickets will be distributed on Tuesday at south ticket booth at Brooks Stadium. Gates will open at 5 p.m.

The sixth-ranked Coastal Carolina men's soccer team rolled to yet another victory after dismissing Winthrop, 3-1, on Wednesday night at Eagle Field in Rock Hill, S.C.

Tickets for the general public will be available for purchase at the main entrance of the CCU Soccer Field starting at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

• Coastal enters Tuesday's match vs. Winthrop ranked 12th by College Soccer News and 11th by TopDrawerSoccer.com. Coastal reached as high as No. 5 by College Soccer News and Soccer America earlier in the season, marking the highest in program and Big South soccer history.

BIG SOUTH REGULAR SEASON TITLE NO. 12
• Coastal Carolina claimed the programs 12th overall and third straight Big South regular season title this season. The Chanticleers finished their Big South slate of matches with a 9-1-0 record for a 27 point total. Coastal has won 28 of its 29 conference matches since the start of the 2011 season.

CONTINUING TO WIN
• After starting the season with a 1-2-0 record vs. three top-15 ranked opponents, the Chanticleers reeled off 11 consecutive victories. The Chants then fell at No. 25 Elon and UNC Asheville, but have rebounded to win their final two games of the regular season to finish the year at 14-4-0.

LAST TIME VS. WINTHROP
• Coastal took a 3-1 decision at Winthrop during regular season play on Oct. 16.
• Winthrop took a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute off the foot of Achille Obougou.
Ricky Garbanzo tied the game in the 32nd minute.
Agust Arnarson scored the eventual game-winner in the 74th minute after receiving a centered ball from Justin Portillo.
Jakub Stourac added the game's final score in the 77th minute.
