CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Coastal Carolina forward Ricky Garbanzo has been tabbed the Choice Hotels Big South Attacking Player of the Week, while Chanticleer defender Uchenna Uzo is the Big South Defensive Player of the Week for games played the final week of the regular-season, the conference office announced Monday.

Garbanzo, a junior from Rock Hill, S.C., recorded four goals to lead No. 12 Coastal Carolina to a pair of Big South wins last week. He got his week started with two goals in CCU's 5-2 win over Campbell on Nov. 6. The win clinched the regular-season for Coastal and the No. 1 seed in this week's Big South Men's Soccer Championship. Three days later at Longwood, he kicked in a pair of scores to push the Chanticleers to the 4-0 win. The honor marks his second Big South Attacking Player of the Week plaudit this season.

Uzo, a junior from Lagos, Nigeria, led Coastal's defensive effort in its two wins last week. He had the assignment of marking Campbell's Jhuvon Francis and Longwood's Anthony Ugorij, each team's top scorer, and held both players without a shot attempt. The honor is his first Big South Defensive Player of the Week nod this season.

Coastal has amassed six Big South Player of Week honors this season. Garbanzo and defender Shawn McLaws are both two-time winners, while Uzo and goalkeeper Devin Cook have each earned one plaudit.
