The top seeded Coastal Carolina University men's soccer team will face Hartwick in Friday's semifinal round of the Sun Belt Conference Tournament.

The Chants (7-6-3) received a first-round bye as the top seed of the tournament while Hartwick faced and defeated Appalachian State 2-1 in their opening round of action.

The two teams faced off in Hartwick back on Oct. 8 with the Hawks pulling out a 1-0 win over CCU, handing the Chants their lone conference loss of the season.

CCU enters the semifinal match ending the season on a 6-2-2 run over its final 10 matches. Four of those matches went into overtime with CCU going 2-0-2 in those four matches.

Frantzdy Pierrot and Einar Einarsson, both first team All-Sun Belt selections, will lead the Chanticleers into their first Sun Belt Conference Tournament after finishing the season with a 3-1-1 SBC record.

The fourth-seeded Hawks (9-5-4) will make their third consecutive conference tournament semifinal appearance.

The match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. and is being played at the Georgia State University Soccer Complex.
