CHARLOTTE, N.C.-Coastal Carolina University men’s soccer forward Joseph Anderson has been named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for games played Nov. 2-8, it was announced by the league office today.
Anderson scored three goals in the week to help the Chanticleers win two league games and capture the Big South regular-season championship. Anderson struck first by scoring the first goal against Winthrop on a bicycle kick in the 3-1 win on Nov. 3. In the second game of the week against Radford, the redshirt-junior scored two goals for the second time this season, including the game-winner, in the 3-1 win at home on Saturday; Nov. 7, to clinch the number one seed in the Big South Tournament. It was Anderson’s first career game-winner as a Chanticleer.
Coastal will face #8 VMI in the first round of the Big South Tournament on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 2:30 p.m. at High Point, N.C.
