Men's Soccer's Becomes Fifth Team in Big South History To Finish With Perfect League Record

Men's Soccer Defeats Radford 1-0 on Senior Day

CONWAY, S.C.– The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team blanked Radford 1-0 on Senior Day, Saturday afternoon at the CCU Soccer Field. With the victory, Coastal becomes the fifth team in Big South Conference history to finish the regular season with a perfect slate. Senior Kheli Dube's first half goal in the difference as the Chanticleers finish with a 6-0 mark the in Big South. 

CCU (10-7-1, 6-0) captured the league regular season championship and earned the number one seed in the Big South Tournament, Nov. 15-18. Radford finishes with a 9-8 overall record and 3-3 mark in league play. Seniors Lachlan Cahill, Dube, Robert Holstein, Patrick Robertson, Kevin Van Den Berg and Aaron Weant were honored prior to the contest. 

Dube netted his fifth-game winner of the season off his 11th goal of the year. Junior Kyle Russell picked up the assist off a long throw in. The CCU defense limited the Highlanders to just six shots and one shot-on-goal. The shutout is the fourth posted by Coastal against league foes and fifth on the season.

Weant posted the 10th shutout of his career, while picking up one save. Zach Roszel also made a save for Radford. 

Coastal will head into the Big South Tournament with the No. 1 seed for the first time since 2003. The tournament is scheduled from Nov. 15-18 hosted by Winthrop in Rock, Hill, S.C. Complete brackets will be announced by the league office at a later point in time.
