CONWAY, SC Coastal Carolina University's unbeaten men's soccer team is now currently ranked in the top ten in the nation for the first time this season in the NSCAA/Adidas Coaches Poll, released Monday afternoon.
The Chanticleers (15-0-2, 6-0-0 Big South) moved up from its 16th ranking a week ago, after their 3-0 victory over then #21 South Carolina and 0-0 tie against College of Charleston at this past weekend's Carolina Youth Development Center Classic in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
Coach Shaun Docking's squad is ranked second in the powerful South Region, three spots ahead of defending national champ North Carolina.
CCU will face Winthrop (11-5-1, 5-0-0 Big South) in a key Big South match on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Rock Hill. The match will most likely determine the BSC regular season title, along with first seed in the conference tournament.
