CONWAY, S.C. Fans of Coastal Carolina University Athletic teams will have plenty to cheer about this weekend as the Chanticleers host five home events in three days.
The fun begins on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. when the Lady Chanticleers volleyball team takes on Big South Conference foe Elon University in Kimbel Arena. Kicking-off at the same time at CCU Soccer Stadium will be CCU's women's soccer team as it host The Citadel. Admission to the volleyball match is free, while the admission for soccer is $3.00 for children and senior citizens and $5.00 for adults. Coastal students, faculty, and staff are always admitted free of charge with a CCU I.D.
On Saturday, the Big South Conference leading Chanticleer men's soccer team will host conference rival Liberty University at 1:00 p.m. The volleyball squad continues its Big South weekend at 3:00 p.m. by hosting High Point University.
The final home event of the weekend takes place on the soccer field as the Lady Chants host USC-Spartanburg at 1:00 p.m.
While there is plenty to cheer for on the home-front, the Chanticleers will also take to the road across the state of South Carolina as the men's and women's cross country teams and the women's golf squad take to the road.
The cross country teams will travel to Rock Hill for Saturday's running of the Big South Conference Championships. The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. as the Chants and Lady Chants look to bring home Big South gold. The women's squad will be led by junior Kara Koppel, while the men's side is led by three-time All-Conference member Campbell Claridge.
While they are running around their course in Rock Hill, the record-breaking Lady Chanticleer golf program will be making their way around the Furman University Golf Course. Coastal, which has set five school records so far this season, will compete in Furman's Lady Paladin Invitational on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The tourney boasts one of the finest fields of any in-season tournament with 14 of the top-50 teams in the nation in attendance.
