Conway - The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team swept the weekly Sun Belt Conference awards following the team's 5-2 upset win over nationally-ranked Old Dominion.

Martin Melchor picked up the Offensive Player of the Week after his career performance against ODU. The senior from Jacksonville, Texas, scored a career single-game high three goals in earning the award.

Melchor scored his first goal in the opening minutes of the match. He scored his second goal in the 74th minute giving the Chants a 3-2 lead, which was ultimately the match-winning goal. He added his third goal with only 33 seconds left in the match to complete the scoring.

He became the 21st player in CCU men's soccer history to post a single-game hat-trick.

Louis Dargent was named the Defensive Player of the Week. Dargent missed the opening nine games of the season due to an injury. The ODU match was only his third match back and his second start.

The senior from Reims, France, presence has been a welcome sight for the coaching staff as his play has helped the Chants control the ball more in the midfield and has held the past two opponents to only two goals while also grabbing a shutout.
