CONWAY, S.C.– Coastal Carolina men's soccer senior forward Mkhokheli Dube (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe/Pumula (Lindsey Wilson)) was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week for the week ending Oct. 7, the organization announced today. The award marks the second individual honor of the week for Dube, who was earlier named Co-Big South Player of the Week.
Dube netted four goals and one assist to lead CCU to a 2-0 record on the week. He got his week started with two goals and one assist as the Chanticleers downed UNC Asheville, 5-0 on Oct. 3. Three days later against George Washington, he found the back of the net in the 24th minute and scored the game winner in the 73rd minute as Coastal picked up the 4-3 win.
The Chanticleers (4-5-1, 2-0) will host Liberty (7-2-2, 2-0) in a battle for first place atop the Big South Conference standings, Friday, Oct. 12. The schools are the only unbeaten squads thus far in league action with neither team allowing a goal in conference action. Game time is set for 4 p.m., at the CCU Soccer Field.
