Fadel Named SBC Defensive Player of the Week
Conway - Coastal Carolina’s Kervin Fadel has been named the Sun Belt Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office.
Fadel, a native of San Jose, Costa Rica, played a strong role in completing a shutout of Sun Belt Conference foe Hartwick and helping the Chanticleers pick up their first conference win of the season.
The junior defender played all 90 minutes in the affair along the Chants defensive back line and also picked up a shot during the match. He helped limit the Hawk to only four shots during the match, helping secure the shutout victory.
It is the second time this season Fadel has picked up the weekly defensive player of the week award.
Fadel has played all 11 matches this season with 10 starts. He has played a team-high 960 minutes while his 87.3 minutes played per game is also the team-high.
