Men's Soccer's Kevin Van Den Berg Tabbed Big South

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Chanticleer midfielder Kevin Van Den Berg (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grandville) has been selected as the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for games played Oct. 2-8, as announced Tuesday, Oct. 10 by the League office.

Van Den Berg, a junior, extended his season goal mark to six during the week, netting four goals in CCU’s two games. He got his week started on Oct. 3 with three goals as the Chants knocked off the College of Charleston, 3-2, picking up his first-ever collegiate hat trick. On Saturday, Oct. 7, he kicked in one goal for Coastal in the loss against Radford, finishing the week with eight points.

Also nominated for men’s soccer player of the week for Week 7: Adam Ross (High Point), Franklin Elimbi (Radford), Thomas Upton (VMI), and Saidi Isaac (Winthrop).
