Men's Soccer Has Three Named To All-Tournament Team

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- The Coastal Carolina men's soccer team had three players named to the Diadora/Spinx Furman Invitational All-Tournament Team on Sunday Sept. 10. Redshirt freshman Tim Shaw (Bowling Green, Ky./Greenwood) scored his first goal as a Chanticleer on Friday against Stetson netting two goals and one assist in the game. Also named All-Tournament, Junior Patrick Robertson (Woodsland, Texas/Woodsland) recorded one goal and one assist on the weekend and Sophomore Kyle Russell (Elgin, Ill./St. Charles North) a defender who has been a huge force in the Chant defense thus far this season.

"I thought overall it was a positive weekend." Head Coach Shaun Docking said. "I thought Kyle, Pat and Tim Shaw had a good weekend, and we needed a little more from many other guys, but my hope is as we progress through with the rest of our schedule in September that we continue to get better as a group and improve each week."

The Chants are back at home on Wednesday, Sept. 13, to take on Davidson at 7 p.m. in Conway, S.C. at the CCU Soccer Field and again on Saturday, Sept. 16 taking on UNC Willmington at 7 p.m.
