Coastal Carolina’s Mubarike Chisoni (Bulawayo, Zimbabwe-Chegutu (Lindsey Wilson)) was selected today by the Big South Conference as the Men’s Soccer Player of the Week. Chisoni was also previously named by College Soccer News as a member of the National Team of the Week for Sept. 5. Chisoni scored four goals and registered three assists during the week as Coastal opened the 2004 campaign with a pair of wins

The senior midfielder had a great week, recording the first hat trick of his career in an 8-0 victory over Anderson College on Sept.1, to go along with two assists for an eight-point effort. Chisoni continued his strong performance against Furman University, recording the assist on the game winning goal by Boyzzz Khumalo (Soweto, South Africa-Bethlehem (Lindsey Wilson)) and recording a goal of his own for the final 2-0 margin of victory.

The Chants play over the weekend when they travel to Greenville, S.C., to participate in the Furman/Diadora Invitational as they take on Harvard September 10 at 4:30 p.m., and Louisville September 12 at 11 a.m.
