Men's Soccer Picked to Repeat as SBC Champs

New Orleans - The 19th-ranked Coastal Carolina men’s soccer team, the reigning Sun Belt Conference Champions, have been picked to repeat that championship by a vote of the league’s head coaches.

The Sun Belt Conference today released the Coaches Poll with the Chanticleers picking up 33 total points and four first-place votes.

Georgia Southern followed the Chants with 27 points and one first place vote. Georgia State also picked up a first-place vote and received 25 points.

Hartwick (19 points) followed Georgia State in the voting with Appalachian State (16 points) and Howard (6 points) rounding out the poll.

The regular season will begin Friday, Aug. 25 with the Chants on the road at George Mason in a 1 p.m. contest. CCU’s first regular season home match will be Fri. Sept. 1 at 7:30 p.m., when the Chants will host UNC Greensboro.
