Baseball Summer League Update

Several members of the Coastal Carolina University baseball team wrapped up play in various summer leagues around the county. Here is an update of how they did.
CAL RIPKEN, SR. LEAGUE
Jackson Geary (Wakefield, R.I./South Kingstown) finished with a 5-1 record and a 4.34 ERA for Maryland. Geary struck out 16 batters in 18.2 innings for the Redbirds.
Scott Woodward (Markle, Ind./Norwell) and Adam Rice (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Elgin C.C.) helped Bourne win the Cape Cod League title, defeating Cotuit 2-0. Woodward hit .246 with 20 runs scored, two doubles, a triple, a home run and 28 stolen bases for the Braves, while Rice had nine hits and six RBI in 23 games… Bourne defeated Cotuit, who had Rico Noel (Lawton, Okla./Lawton) on its team. Noel had 36 stolen bases, eight RBI and a .336 on-base percentage for the Kettleers.
Jim Birmingham (Pine Hill, N.J./Penn) had a 1-3 record with a 4.34 earned-run average in eight appearances for Outer Banks. The opponents hit just .212 off of Birmingham... Keith Hessler (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) was 2-2 with a 3.56 ERA for Outer Banks...Tucker Frawley (Lexington, S.C./Lexington) has 16 hits, seven RBI and a .299 on-base percentage for the Daredevils.
Steve Davis (Steubenville, Ohio/Steubenville) hit .233 with three doubles and eight RBI for Licking County. Davis was a perfect 4-for-4 in stolen bases for the Settlers.
NEW ENGLAND COLLEGIATE
Anthony Meo (Cranston, R.I./Cranston West) had a 0.87 ERA in four appearances for New Bedford. Meo allowed just two earned runs in 20.2 innings of work. He struck out 20 for the Bay Sox.
Luke Schlechte (Imperial, Mo./Jefferson College) helped the Quincy Gems to the Prospect League title. Schlechte hit .251 with 12 doubles, four home runs and 32 RBI for the Gems… Brad Goldberg (Beachwood, Ohio/Beachwood) was 1-2 with four saves and a 1.97 ERA for North Coast. Goldberg struck out 37 batters in 32 innings pitched for the Knights. Goldberg also was named to the Prospect League All-Star Team... TJ Swank (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) had 26 strikeouts and two saves for Springfield. He had a 2.87 ERA for the Sliders.
Tommy La Stella (Closter, N.J./St. John's) and Evan Noell (Salem, Va./Glenvar) helped Haymarket to a Lineweaver Cup win over Covington. LaStella hit .303 with 10 doubles, six home runs and 37 RBI, while Noell had 22 hits and seven RBI for the Senators… Daniel Bowman (Bridgewater, Va./Turner Ashby) hit .298 with eight doubles, eight home runs and 34 RBI for the Luray Wranglers. He also had a .498 on-base percentage for the Wranglers.
