CONWAY - Twelve home games, including visits from perennial top 25 programs North Carolina and Ohio State along with two home tournaments and five home matches with conference rivals highlight the fall schedule of the reigning Big South Conference champion Chanticleer men's soccer team, head coach Shaun Docking announced on Monday.

Coastal will kick off the season on August 19 as hosts to North Carolina, who is a year removed from earning the number four overall national seed in the NCAA Tournament and advancing to the College Cup semifinals.  UNC Charlotte will then make a return trip to Coastal Carolina Soccer Field on Aug. 27 in a rematch of the opening contest of the 2010 season.

The Chants then play in three consecutive tournaments starting with the Richmond Marriott Classic Presented by adidas where clashes with Elon (Sept. 2) and Richmond (Sept. 4) wait.  Coastal then returns home to host the George Washington (Sept. 9) and Virginia Commonwealth (Sept. 11) in the Coastal Carolina University/adidas Invitational.  The following weekend, the Chanticleers host the Coastal Carolina University/adidas Tournament.  Coastal will play Appalachian State on Sept. 16 before taking on Ohio State on Sept. 18.  Ohio State earned the number 16 national seed and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament last fall.

A match with Gardner-Webb on Sept. 23 will open the Big South season for the defending champions.  Coastal then steps out of conference to host UNC Wilmington (Sept. 28) before welcoming rival Liberty to Conway on Oct. 2.  Next, Docking leads his squad into the College of Charleston (Oct. 5) to take on the Cougars who earned an at-large selection to the NCAA Tournament last season.

After a one game home stand against Radford on Oct. 9, the Chants will take to the road for its longest away stretch of the season.  Up first is a trip to defending regular season champion High Point (Oct. 12) followed by contests at UNC Asheville (Oct. 15) and Wofford (Oct. 18).

Coastal comes home to play VMI on Oct. 21 before returning to the road for games at Winthrop (Oct. 29) and Presbyterian (Nov. 2).  Campbell, the newest member of the Big South Conference, comes to Conway on Nov. 5 to conclude the Chants regular season of play.

The 2011 Big South Conference Championship will be hosted by Gardner-Webb in Boiling Springs, N.C.  First round action will kick off on Nov. 10 with the Championship game contested on Nov. 13.

The 2011 NCAA Tournament commences on Nov. 17 culminating with the College Cup on Dec. 9 and 11 in Hoover, Ala.
