Men's Soccer Accepting Applications for Summer Camps
Conway - The two-time defending Sun Belt Men's Soccer Champions, Coastal Carolina, continues to take applicants for its two summer soccer camps.
Reigning Sun Belt Coach of the Year, Shaun Dockings, and his coaching staff of the nationally-ranked Chanticleers will oversee the camp opportunities, supplying coaching and teaching from the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers staff of a top-25 program.
The first camp of the summer is the Summer ID Camp scheduled for June 27-28. The cost for the two-day camp is $225. The camp is open for male soccer players ages 13-22.
The purpose of the camp is to provide high school aged and older soccer players, looking to play in college, an opportunity to be trained and evaluated by the Chanticleers soccer coaching staff in a high-intensity training environment, similar to the environment they will experience at the collegiate level.
The training sessions will focus on developing the player's tactical and technical aspects of the game through exercise that is centered on speed of play, combination play, high pressure and smaller games within the 11v11 game. Throughout the competition, staff members will instruct the players on how to recognize the differences and overcome the challenges of transitioning from club/high school soccer to the collegiate level.
The second camp scheduled this summer is the Summer Residential Elite Camp. It is scheduled to run July 17-19. The Elite Camp is open for male soccer players ages 13-19. The cost of the Elite Camp will be $400 for commuters (no meals) and will be $550 for overnight campers which includes housing and meals.
The Summer Residential Elite Camp focuses on increasing the technical, tactical, and psychological and fitness dimensions for individuals or teams looking to improve as a whole. This camp is open to individuals who are looking to further their game as well as be evaluated.
It is also open for high school teams that can use the format as a preseason or even a team-bonding experience. The CCU coaching staff will work closely with each individual or team to give them insight on the tools needed to reach the next level.
