Cyprian Hedrick’s MLS career with Sporting Kansas City was in its infancy last May, when his life got completely flipped over, after breaking his leg in one of the team practices.
Hedrick – who attended Coastal Carolina – was the 30th overall pick in the 2012 MLS Draft. He played in six preseason games, as well as a few exhibition matches prior to his injury.
“I lunged into the tackle, because I wanted to win this ball,” Hedrick said. “I won it of course, but when I landed, my leg got stuck under me, and so my momentum just crushed my leg.”
Hedrick said as a result of the sharp pain he felt in his left leg, he rolled back on it, which made things even worse for him.
