Men's Soccer Announces Signees

Conway - Coastal Carolina Head Soccer Coach Shaun Docking, the 2017 Sun Belt Coach of the Year, has announced the signing of 11 players to the reigning Sun Belt Champions and the nationally-ranked men's soccer program.

Jaiden Fortune is transferring to Coastal after playing at Elon College. Fortune was named to the CAA All-Rookie Team during his freshman campaign and was also named to the 2017 All-CAA Third Team.

He played at Pine Ridge High School in Deltona, Fla. The 6'-0" striker helped lead Pine Ridge to 26 wins and two District championships and scored 26 goals over two years.

He also played club soccer for Orlando City and scored 22 goals over the last two years he played with them.

Another transfer is goalkeeper Lance da Silva. He was the starting goalie at Longwood University last season. He is from Spotsylvania, Va., and played at Riverbend High School.

He played in the DC United Pre-Academy from 2012-14 and also played for DC United 16/18 Academy, where he was named to the Academy Select Team. He was also a team captain at Riverbend High School.

Jacob Seeto is a midfielder from Brisbane, Australia. He spent the past season playing for both the U18 and U20 NPL clubs. He finished the season playing 32 matches and scoring 15 goals.

Raul Ruiz comes to CCU from West Wendover, Nev. He played at West Wendover High School and scored 28 points on nine goals and 10 assists in 20 matches on the season. He was the captain of the Region IV ODP.

The Chanticleers also signed Langston Blackstock out of Marietta, Ga. The 6'-2" striker was the leading scorer for his club team Concord Fire.

Another transfer is Paulo Pita who is coming to Coastal Carolina from the University of Charleston out of Charleston, West Virginia.

Pita was the starting goalkeeper for the Golden Eagles and helped lead Charleston to the NCAA Division II National Championship. He was named an NCAA Division II First Team All-American.

Oliver Gerbig is a defender from Germany. He played on the U21 Hong Kong National Team and also played for the Royal Blues from Chinese Taipei (Taiwan).

Looking to step in and help the Chants along the back line will be Paavo Riihijarvi. Originally from Finland, Riihijarvi played in Georgia at Darlington Soccer Academy. He was on the U18-19 Darlington club team.

The CCU staff did not have to go far to sign Luke Williams, A 6'-0" midfielder from Murrells Inlet. He played for St. James High School where he played in 20 matches scoring 72 points on 31 goals and 10 assists.

He is also a member of the Coast FA and the Myrtle Beach Mutiny.

Another goalkeeper the Chants have signed is Alex Brown from Lee's Summit, Mo. Brown attended Lee's Summit West High School and played for the Kansas City Academy Team.

An addition to the Chants midfield will be Kahsay Sahlu. From Ethiopia, Sahlu now lives in Marietta, Ga., and plays for the Atlanta United Academy Team.
